Javier Vilaplana
Piccolo clarinet and clarinet SIb

He was born in Alcoy (Alicante) in 1980. He began his studies at the Nova d'Alcoi Musical Society and later studied at the Alcoy and Valencia conservatories, obtaining the Extraordinary Prize at the end of the Professional Degree. He obtains the Higher Degree Degree at the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatory of Valencia with Professor José Cerveró, achieving the highest marks.

He continues his training with professor José Vicente Herrera, in addition to taking different advanced courses with professors such as Miguel Espejo, Justo Sanz, Reinhard Wieser, Carles Riera, Radovan Cavallin, Hedwig Swinberghe, Yehuda Gilad, Vicente Alós, among others.

He has collaborated in various amateur and professional formations, such as the OBC (Orquestra de Barcelona and Nacional de Catalunya), Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga, Orquestra de Vents Filharmonia, Ciutat Big Band, among others. It also cooperates with the quality control department of Canyes ”Xilema”.

In March 2005 he was awarded the VI International Interpretation Award "Friends of Music" in Alcoy.

Since February 2008 he has been a teacher of requinto and clarinet in the Municipal Band of Barcelona, an activity that he combines with teaching in different music schools in the province of Barcelona.
